According to statistics, spinal diseases are the most common. After fifty years, diseases of the spine can serve as one of the main causes of disability. Some scientists believe that diseases of the spine are a person’s fee for his upright posture, unlike other primates.

Back pain is the main indicator of most diseases of the spine. Back pain can be the result of hypothermia, weight lifting, sudden movements of the torso, poor position during sedentary work, metabolic disorders. Most often, back pain is caused by osteochondrosis. Back pain can be of a different nature – aching, dull, cutting, shooting, etc.

Back pains can be heard in the legs, become stronger during coughing, sneezing, in other words, at a time when the body is tensing.

I must say that back pains can have in their causes not only diseases of the spine, but also other systemic diseases: kidney diseases, ovarian diseases, pancreatic disorders, and urinary tract disorders.

 

Directly, diseases of the spine are osteochondrosis, radiculitis of the back, intervertebral hernia, left-sided and right-sided scoliosis, deforming spondylosis, osteoporosis, etc. Most often, osteochondrosis and intervertebral hernia are found.

Diseases of the spine – osteochondrosis

As already mentioned, in the category of diseases of the spine, osteochondrosis is most common than all others. Osteochondrosis is manifested in a neuralgic nature, and this makes patients seek medical help.

Osteochondrosis is a disease of the spine, the cause of which is a complex of degenerative-dystrophic disorders of bone cartilage. Osteochondrosis occurs mainly in the spine, although it can affect both the hip and knee joints. According to statistics, the first place in the ranking of diseases is occupied by cardiovascular diseases, and the second is osteochondrosis.

Spinal Disorders – Herniated Disc

This disease of the spine is observed in ¼ of all people. As a rule, the causes of a hernia of the intervertebral disc are metabolic disorder, hereditary genetics, damage and infectious diseases. The risk of a hernia of the intervertebral disc is the likelihood of compression of the spinal cord or its nerve endings, which is expressed in loss of sensitivity or, conversely, in pain. Most of all, with such a disease, the lower back suffers, since the greatest load falls on it. Lumbar pain may be given to the limbs during coughing or sneezing. With a hernia of the intervertebral discs, numbness or loss of sensitivity in the lumbar region can be observed. Severe pain in the lumbar region can occur when the body is leaning, rising from a lying or sitting position. Of course, other functions are injured with a hernia; knee-jerks are lost, legs become weak, muscles become flabby.
