Osteochondrosis of the cervical spine – the popular treatment of this disease should be carried out under strict medical supervision. This pathology is often accompanied by deformation of the intervertebral discs and squeezing of blood vessels, leading to impaired cerebral circulation. Therefore, folk remedies are permissible to use only in combination with standard techniques, such as physiotherapy, massage and the use of drugs.
Cervical osteochondrosis: traditional methods of treatment
With osteochondrosis of the cervical spine, treatment with folk remedies is usually aimed at warming the neck and relieving pain syndrome. For these purposes, decoctions of herbs are used, as well as warming compresses and ointments, prepared according to a special recipe. To alleviate the symptoms of the disease and improve the effectiveness of drug therapy you will be helped by the following recipes:
- Herbal infusion for rubbing. Dried stalks and inflorescences of coltsfoot, pour with ammonia and insist for a month in a dark place. Strain the finished product and rub into the affected areas.
- Horseradish compress Dab the leaves of horseradish with boiling water and apply it overnight as a compress for 10 days, wrapping a warm scarf over your neck. If you feel too intense burning, the compress should be removed to avoid burns.
- Ointment based on hop cones. Healing composition prepared from pork fat and hop cones, with a combination of 1: 1 components, will have a warming effect on the inflamed areas and will contribute to the relief of pain.
- Celery infusion. Three grams of grated celery root pour a glass of boiling water and leave for eight hours. Take 1 tsp. infusion three times a day, before meals.
- Egg and flour ointment. One hundred grams of sunflower oil, an egg and 1 tbsp. flour mix until smooth. In the mixture, add 1 tbsp. vinegar, and clean in a dark place for two days. Formed on the surface of the film must be discarded, after which the composition must be well mixed and applied as an ointment.
- Infusion of elderberry. Pour half a glass of elderberry with two glasses of alcohol, place in a dark place and leave for a week. Ready infusion can be rubbed into problem areas of the neck. From this tool you can also make a compress: add a little water to the tincture, soak gauze in the solution, and apply to the sore spot for half an hour, keeping the lotion under a warm scarf or towel.
